Managing Shareholder
Alvarado Smith

Theodore E. Bacon is the Managing Shareholder of the San Francisco office and specializes in employment and business litigation and counseling of employers, including defense of employment class actions and PAGA claims.

Ted began practice in a small firm doing a variety of legal matters - litigation, transactional, probate and estates - but eventually gravitated to primarily focus on litigation and counseling on employment matters.     Ted prides himself on his litigation skills and knowledge of the rules of evidence. No trial lawyer ever won a case where the evidence they needed to prove the case was not admitted. Knowing how to get the right evidence before the jury is often the difference in winning cases. Ted has taken dozens of cases to jury verdict and scores of cases to judgment by court trial. He has negotiated hundreds of very favorable settlements. His clients have been with him for decades because the relationship is built on trust, skill, and responsiveness.      Accolades: Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ 5.0 Rated.     Education: J.D., University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, 1984, A.B., in Economics, Occidental College, 1981.
